WMP10 album art question

My X50v should be here on Monday and that's going to be my first exposure to WMP10-mobile.

Right now I've got an SD card full of music and all I'd want to do is add the album art.
Is there a way to do just this or do I have to start clean and re-copy everything?

And how much space does the album art take up? Is it some specialized file format or a standard JPG, BMP, or GIF that I could just copy over myself?

Thanks

Well, that is a good question. When I look in my music folders on my CF card it just shows the music files. If I go Tools->Folder Options->View->and click the button for "Show Hidden Files and Folders" I can then see the .jpg for the album art. Problem is I can't find that same .jpg on my desktop if I wanted to just copy it over. It is not in the same folders as my music is on my desktop. So in theroy your idea might work. Hopefully someone else will have a better idea.

Another option is if you have a card reader you can use MWP10 to sync to it and it is much faster then ActiveSync. This way you get all the album art and DRM stuff all at once. Good Luck~

You can sync DRM'ed music through a card reader? I thought you had to sync it through the Axim with the card in it. Hummmmmmmm, I will have to try that when I get home.

As long as you use WMP10 you can sync anyway you want. I put my card in the reader, start WMP10 and select the card form the pull down menu on the right side of the sync screen. Works fine and is 1000X faster then doing it with the cradle. There is no reason the card has to be in the Axim. Just that you use WMP10 to do the syncing. If you drag and drop or cut/paste to the card form your "music" folder on your desktop. It will not play DRM music. .mp3s work fine.

WMP10 can sometimes be a pain. But it is by far the easiest way to get DRM protected music and album art on your memory card for playback using WMP on the Axim.

Good Luck~

From my experience, syching DRM music through a card reader is hit and miss. Sometimes it works for me and sometimes the songs won't play.

Since I alreay have most of the songs transferred over, most of the time I synch with the microdrive in my x50. This usually involves just a few songs, however.

The inital time I synched with the microdrive in the card reader and some of the songs I downloaded would not play; I ended up having to delete these songs and re-synch with the drive in the Axim.
