Using VGA out cable to display video (x50v)

Has anyone tried using the vga out cable for the x50v in order to display video? Im interested in using it with a vga to tv out converter to play on well .. a tv!
I havent seen anything substantial on this yet (maybe i suck at searching) so im kinda confused as to what kind of converter would be needed for the vga to tv output.

I can't answer your question about a CRT TV, nix (fellow Tabasco lover), but my plasma display panel has a VGA input and, well, I couldn't resist hooking it up to my PDA to have a look-see. It does display the Axim screen but the image is pretty bad -- colours were "off" and my particular set doesn't offer much adjustment on VGA signal input.

Was pretty cool though!

Sorry, I guess this isn't much help to you.

I am also interested in getting the answer to that question. I would love to use the X50v as a portable media device. My research indicates:

1) U can use a VGA out cable for powerpoint presentations
2) the size on the external screeen will mirror the size on the pda (which is a bad thing if you want to watch videos)

Let me know if you have learned anything new...

Thanks,

K

To convert VGA to TV you would need a scan converter
Avermedia makes them and many other companies too.

When i bought my AXIM the guy told me it cant be done, that all you could do is hook it up to a slideshow. But I say NAY! It can and will be done. I am searching for a way to do it myself and Ill let you know if I find anything out. Im curious to get it on a TV soon.

Anyone successfull yet?
