WMV to MOV

How in the heck do you do that? Auto Gordian Knot won't recognize the WMV. What other solutions are there?

try doom9.org for a tutorial on it. I believe you can use a version of Virtual Dub that supports WMV or ASX files to do what you're looking for.

Personally, I use NeroVision Express. It converts anything to DVD, just about, so I make a virtual disc with the file, then can re-rip it if I need to as a .avi file, without actually using a disc. However, this does take up quite a bit of hdd space (Can take up to 9GB for a full DVD, dual-sided).

If you were to try such a conversion you would need VirtualDub 1.3c or AviSynth as a frameserver and then use that to encode in QuickTime Pro.

Are you absolutely sure you want to end up with a QuickTime video?

well, honestly, I hate Windows Media Player. When it comes right down to it, I just wanna use BetaPlayer. Also, when I play video on WMP it will pause for a second then start playing gain every once in awhile for some reason. I just like BetaPlayer more.

OK since you want to play it in Betaplayer then the obvious choice is to convert it to DivX or XviD. The simplest methods are either to use an automated tool like WinAVI Video Converter which I can't personally vouch for as I haven't used it or the old VirtualDub method as detailed here. If you decide to use the second method and get stuck give me a yell and I should be able to get you unstuck.
