Command line MPEG2 -> MPEG4 encoder ?

I have a DHTV tuner card in my PC and have it set to record my favorite TV shows. Problem is the TV is recorded in MPEG2 format whereas my pocket PC and Modded XBOX wont play MPEG2 not to mention the huge file sizes.

There are plenty of GUI encoders around but these all require me to log in after a show has been recorded to start the process so im looking for a command line encoder (or other solution) so i could set a scheduled task on my pc every night that will encode any new MPEG2 files in my recordings folder...

ie) mp2tmp4.exe c:\recordings\*.mpg2

Anyone know of a prog that will do this?? even a GUI that can be scheduled to convert all files in a particular folder?

Cheers

Damnit..... Worked so well from work when i was playing with an Mpg file i found on my HD but after getting home i tried it with a Mpeg2 file that my HDTV card spits out and it came with an error no frames found in file. Is there some plugin i need to get it to read the mpg files from my tuner card? Seems like the codec isnt supported by VirtualDub

In short, try VirtualDubMod

If it won't help ( highly unlikely), then:
Did you try to play it with Media Player (just to make sure that you have that MPEG2 codec installed in your system)?
Size of the file?
CSS protected?
VirtualDub version 1.6.6?

Another thought from a different angle: RAW recording (if your system supports it, of 'cos)
