DVD Ram to xvid or Divx ???

Currently using Fairuse Wizard to encode my DVD's to xvid or divx, it works great. Only now I have a DVD RAM disk from a panasonic DVD recorder which has the DVD in a different filestructure ?

\DVD_RTAV
\DVD_RTAV\VR_MANGR.BUP
\DVD_RTAV\VR_MANGR.IFO
\DVD_RTAV\VR_MANGR.VRO

Does anyone know how to convert DVD RAM format disks into Xvid or DivX ??

Fairuse say's "Unable to read AGID"

Thanks in advance

CHeers

Just tried that, DVD shrink is looking for normal DVD filestrucures and files. So that doesn't work :(

Although it appears that the .VRO is actually an mpg in disguise. I copied the 3gb file over to my hard drive and Media player plays it ok, now I just need to xvid it, Media Encoder 9 does such a crap job, need a better alternative

If you're happy using FairUse then the simplest method is to use either TMPGEnc DVD Author or Nerovision Express to convert the disc to standard DVD-Video format. Personally I'd go for TDA as you can snag a trial version and write the DVD files to hard disk then rip with FairUse as usual.

Copying directly from a DVD-RAM disc is a little dodgy if there are any edits on the disc, but essentially your guess was correct it is just a series of VOB's packed into a different format.
