Orb and streaming to a PDA.

Okay, on the Orb forums I got the following reply:

Orb will automatically stream directly to your PPC if it is on the same LAN as the PC that you installed Orb on. If your PC is using a wireless router, then you can configure your PPC to access the internet using this same router, and you'll be able to stream high-quality video to your pocket PC (very cool indeed!).

Now I share my internet connection with my X30 and desktop using a wireless router..does that mean I'm already on the same LAN and since I access the internet using PIE then surely I've already configured my PPC but I cannot get Orb to stream direct to MY X30 it always goes over the internet first.

Anybody help?

I cant offer any advice except try disconnecting the modem part of the router if possible and try getting it to work then.

Edit>>> I had a look in the config screen (right click on orb, config) and there's a blanked out checkbox called "DirectStream". Perhaps that is what you are looking for? I have no idea how to get in unblanked out though.....

It's not a combined router/modem, since I have a cable connection. It's just a wireless router.

I managed to get the directstream box ticked when I switch on uPNP on the router. However that did no good, and when I set my folder where the video files are on my HD to share, the box became greyed out again.

No luck with this either. I just uninstalled orb because of this. Go idea but with cable modem the upload bandwith is not the best. Mine is 5 years old and might be making the problem worse. I could only get video at around 250-300bit max. Good enough for music but not video. For music I'll just play it over the network.
