Streaming mp3s over wireless network to X5
Is there any way to steam music over a wireless network to my X5? I have a network share of my mp3s mapped out, but I cant find any way to stream them to my axim. I can transfer them, ,and play them in windows media player, but not stream. Any suggestions?

If you want to stream them then something like Slim Server or Windows Media Encoder is your best Bet. If you just want to open them over the network then look for a app called Netrunner. I believe it will let you do this.

Always read stuff that will make you look good if you die in the middle of it.

Windows Media Encoder if you want to set up a playlist on the computer and listen to it on your axim, but require no control. Remember to ensure that your firewall is open for thew port you are using though (8080)!
I use a web-based streaming service called ORB (www.orb.com) for when i want control over my stuff. You can fairly easily set it up, and stream almost anything over the net to your axim. Useful for when I want to listen to music in uni (they have a wifi hotspot). Only problem is, it's net-based, so bandwidth aint as good as over a home network with WME. Other than that I have no recommendations as I dont use anything else. Also, Orb streams divx etc fine to WMP10, so no need for betaplayer etc. | ||||||||
