Is this JUST to rip dvd's, or can it do other things too? Like, conversion and compresssion...

Also, it doesn't harm the dvd does it?

FairUse does the lot from start to finish, ripping, transcoding and multiplexing all from an easy to use graphical interface (hmmm I sound a bit like a commercial).

It does no more harm than watching it i.e. none whatsoever.

It works with DVD's and ISO files but you might as well say it's just a DVD ripper. You cannot do anything with Divx or other files once they are produced by it.

Compared to the commercial apps I have tried FairUse is VERY SLOW and it requires A LOT of temporary disk space but the results are excellent.

I also has the rotate 90 degreese option and the video plays 50% faster.
