Thanks for the link. I tried the FAQ in the multimedia fourm to reencode and I was successful.

Do you know if you have to reencode mpegs when using Project Mayo Media Player ? What I mean is do you run into the same problem with videos extending pass the screen width?? Or does the software auto adjusts?

Thats what Pocket PC needs. A media player that when told to go full screen, its adjusts the video size to fit the window and can rotate the picture.

Resco Picture Viewer (which comes on your Axim CD) plays Mpegs well. Can't beat the cost.

I suggest using pocket tv, it plays the videos better than resco.

In general, MPEG files downloaded from the internet do not have parameters optimized for viewing on Pocket PC.

There is an option in PocketTV to resize the video to "Fit Screen", but it is quite slow unless you have a Toshiba e800 with hardware acceleration.

The best option is to convert the video into a format optimized for Pocket PC. The result will be a much smaller file, that will play much better.

Check the "Simple Guide for making MPEG files optimized for Pocket PC or Smartphone" at:

The latest version of PocketTV (0.14.7) has an option to scale the video to fit the screen, even when playing in Fullscreen mode.

By default, the size control command (toggle between Nominal and Fit Screen) is mapped on the Action button (in the middle on the D-pad).

If you have installed an earlier version of PocketTV, open Tools > Options > Buttons and tap on Default to reset the default button mapping.

To switch between Normal view and Fullscreen, just tap on the video.
