DVD show ripping

I was considering purchasing a dvd ripping software for my Axim because I have tried on many occasions to do it for free as per the tutorial with no success. My question was, however, if I were to rip a DVD of a show, i.e. Family guy, south park, 24 etc, will that work on the Axim or does it have to be a movie type DVD. The reason i ask is a lot of those season show DVDs have menu's so you can choose the episode you want and i didnt know if that would work. thanks for the help.

I use fairuse all the time to "season" shows. Just finished Sopranos Season 5. Works Great!

A card reader to transfer
Betaplayer to play

The free version doesn't let you choose a time frame to snag an episode although I suppose with enough patience you could figure out which segment is an episode by looking at the time frames. and ripping the episodes one by one.

I just look for the sessions that are about 25 mins / an hour depending on how long the episode is

Using FairUse you get to tell it what to make the final file size. So if you have a 256MB card you can tell it to make your movie 250MB so it will fit. The larger the size the better the quality. But after a certin point it gets to be a bit much. I mean, this is not your 70" TV after all. A good rule of thumb is around 100MB per 30 min of video. As for what else you need. BetaPlayer to watch the .avi files you created. Check the links in my sig for everything. Good Luck~

I see that everyone loves the betaplayer. I am wondering if anyone knows anything about PocketTV and if they like it. I have it installed and I like it but if anyone can give me the pros and cons between the two and why I should switch, that would be great.

I think it is the same as the full, 1.2. But I am not 100% on that.
