WMP Streaming doesn't work: buffering til 100% -> stopped

I use WMP10 mobile on my x50v with A04 ROM. My wifi connection works for internet but when I try to watch a streamed clip from tagesschau.de encoded in wmv8, I get the following: the buffer is running up until 100%, then I see the first frame for the part of a second and then I get a "stopped". Pressing play repeats this. The properties say that the length of the clip would be 0 seconds. On my notebook I can watch it without probs.

Any ideas?

Well, all the 56k streams from the windows media site work. The 300k streams just say "ready". Well, I don't feel so ;-) Quite hard to find free and fast streams but it should not be a speed problem. So the general answer is yes, (some) other streams work.

300k streams require a big pipe. If you're using dial-up it's not going to work. The only time I can play those streams is when I'm on my jobs dual t1 network I use my Ax at home with t-mobile gprs so I always look for the lowest bitrate stream.

Thanks for that. I tried a 300k movie trailer which worked fine. It was also encoded in WMV8.

@Don't panic!: As I said, speed should not be the problem. I am connected via 11 mbps-WiFi to a 3 mbps internet connection.

How can one stream work and the other one doesn't. Both work on my notebook. Any alternative media players playing streamed wmvs?

Its all in the way its encoded or tagged probaly...I think I have a fix for you in this case though...You can go here www.ppcvidz.com in your P.I.E then browse to News then look for tagesschau.de or you can also go here http://www.ppcvidz.com/streams/Page.asp?pro_id=2118 on your desktop/laptop PC and view that version I have added for you.
Let me know if this was the stream you where trying to watch...

That's amazing! There's just a placeholder at the moment, I'am longing for the news at 8. Anyway, on the original site, I can't even get the placeholder to run so I gues it'll work. How do you do that? Is it a kind of wrapper implementing the right tags around the stream?

Unfortunately, this is not the original stream I was trying to look. Tagesschau.de has a live stream which you "wrapped" perfectly. What I use more are the recordings of the evening (tagesschau 20:00) and the late night news (tagesthemen). If you have a hint for me how to make them watchable, I'd be more than gladful :approve:

Yeah, it's actually both of them but I wonder if your visitors would find them more usefull than the actually available live stream :-/

I just added two more links on top of the live stream so there you go :approve:

Now you should be able to keep up with all the news. Like I said you can also access this with P.I.E on your PPC by going to www.ppcvidz.com and then go into the News section.
I can't understand a word they are saying but looks like its a good stream...Question is now will the recording links update automatically without me having to do anything...Time will tell. Either way the Live Stream should be good.

That's awesome, thank you so much. As I understand it, the links will work as long as they don't change its format, at least they haven't changed within the last weeks.
