Major diff:
- ffmpeg library: video codecs: h264, mpeg2, GMC and QPEL in Mpeg4 asp, Intel Indeo, SQ3 (for example: mov trailers) wmv7,8 wmv9 (on every PDA with wmp10 without x50v)
- amr audio codec
- icecast, asf http streaming
- highier quality in vorbis ogg files
and more....
Does "without X50v" mean that I still won't be able to play .wmv files on my X50v?
I haven't had a chance to download it yet.

YES, no way on x50v. Only wmv7 and 8 video codecs is playable. Newest wmv9 from WMP9 or WMP10 encoders - not
I don't think that's totally correct. I think that you can play wmv9 video on the x50v if you don't use the Intel 2700g decoder. Use Raw FrameBuffer instead. It seems to be working for me.
Be sure to change the video driver from Intel 2700g to Raw FrameBuffer before you open the video file.

Absolutely! Using Raw Framebuffer the WMV files are decoded with the original MS codecs. Unfortuantelly I couldn't find any easy way to support Intel 2700G mode yet (with the WMP10 codecs using RGB output), but I will continue to search for a workaround.

just installed the new TCPMP in the x50v. i noticed one interesting 'bug', ok i m not sure if it is a bug or i did anything wrong.
we all know that in wm2003se if you don't do the file association manually a window will popup and tell u to open the whatever file you tapped on in the program that's supposed to open the file. after getting tcpmp, i went to my file explorer & want to try out some video files. i have 1 .mpg file(from sony digicam) & 1 .gp3 file(from nokia 6230). i tapped on the .mpg file and wow, file assoication not done, so i thought ok, open tcpmp and tick those check boxes. ticked the relevant boxes, restarted tcpmp and go to explorer again. Hey! still not associated. proceeded to softreset. still not recognized. at this point i got annoyed and go to tcpmp file associations, unticked all the file formats and reticked every single one. closed tcpmp. finally all associated.
ok...someone tell me whether this is a bug or just my x50v
:p

Probably a bug, but I couldn't reproduce it. In theory at first run TCPMP automatically associates the unused file types. If you didn't associated .mpg to another program it should have been checked in by default in TCPMP's settings.
Picard: in the change log, it states Version .66 does not support WMV on X50v 2700G. But if I install the ffmpeg plugin, Core can play WMV with no problem?
ffmpeg supports only WMV7 and most WMV8 (not all).
The official WMV decoder (used by WMP10) found in the ROM is still not usable in TCPMP when the output mode is Intel 2700G. This is when the player fallback to ffmpeg (when installed). If you select 'Raw Framebuffer' you will be able to playback WMV9 and all type of WMV8 (with the decoder of WMP10)
