Sweet. I hope mpeg 2 support is planned for this puppy. I can't wait to be able to play mpeg2 and .mov files. I know it's still a long ways off, but i am getting excited!

Thankyou very much Picard for all your hard work.

we all know that in wm2003se if you don't do the file association manually a window will popup and tell u to open the whatever file you tapped on in the program that's supposed to open the file. after getting tcpmp, i went to my file explorer & want to try out some video files. i have 1 .mpg file(from sony digicam) & 1 .gp3 file(from nokia 6230). i tapped on the .mpg file and wow, file assoication not done, so i thought ok, open tcpmp and tick those check boxes. ticked the relevant boxes, restarted tcpmp and go to explorer again. Hey! still not associated. proceeded to softreset. still not recognized. at this point i got annoyed and go to tcpmp file associations, unticked all the file formats and reticked every single one. closed tcpmp. finally all associated.

ok...someone tell me whether this is a bug or just my x50v
:p

must be a bug cuz i was also having problems on my x30h. i did what you did and the files are now associated though :)

Hi,
I noticed that the sound level is quite low with TCPMP. Do you also experience this???

This is because the player has it's volume level (like WMP). It will only max out the global operation system volume level. You can change back to old behaviour in settings/advanced/use system volume

Can someone explain to me what each of the 3 plugin does?
I find no info on them.
All I know is that they are plugins for TCPMP.

Thanks.

WMV & FFMPEG Plugin need help?

The official WMV decoder (used by WMP10) found in the ROM is still not usable in TCPMP when the output mode is Intel 2700G. This is when the player fallback to ffmpeg (when installed). If you select 'Raw Framebuffer' you will be able to playback WMV9 and all type of WMV8 (with the decoder of WMP10)
Picard,

Please help to understand. Regarding the FFMPEG plugin what it is used for? I don't see any difference playing WMV on X50V with or without. I have changed video to Raw Frame Buffer and most of the videos play slow and stuttering. Some Play fine.
Also where do you install the FFPEG plugin. When I used the Desktop installer & put in in BIS it gets installed in a seperate folder from TCMP. Do I need to now move ffmpeg(644K) into the TCMP folder along with all the other plugins. Also why is ffmpeg so large compared to TCMP itself?

Also Where can I find a help file or user guide to some of the more advance settings. What is Benchmark mode? When I use this while playing a WMV they seem to play faster at correct speed?

Under video: 1)what is Smooth Zoom(only 50%) vs always 2) What is GDI & NullVideo

Under Settings>advanced : please explain no wirelles mmx usage, less rotation tearing(slower), prefer lookup tables, prefer less buffering over smooth video, etc.

I coulsdn't find this info on corecodec website. So any help you or others could have. I would appreciate.

WMP 10 will not play videos full screen unless they are encoded at 640 x 480 or 320 x 240 any other size and they play with black border. Its a bummer that you can't size or zoom like in desktop version of WMP. So TCMP is a going to be godsaver, once I figure out how to use this plugin and get these WMV's to play smoothly.

Thanks Picard and everyone

Ditto that.
I don't see much difference, myself.
What is everyone else having better luck with?

Question

Look at the specs of this wmv file (using wmp10 properties):

Lengh: 17:16
Audio Codec: Windows Media Audio 9 voice
Audio Format: 8 kbps, 8 khz, mono
Video codec: Windows media Video 9 screen
Bitrate 272kbps

Now, have a look at this one:

Lengh: 04:49
Audio Codec: Windows Media Audio 9 voice
Audio Format: 8 kbps, 8 khz, mono
Video codec: Windows media Video 9 screen
Bitrate 91kbps

When i play the first one in WMP10 I'm only able to listen to it but the display remains black in both normal an wide screen mode. When trying to play the second one in WMP10 again, I'm able to listen and watch the video just fine and if i try to use TCPMP with any of them it will display the following errors "Player: Audio codec (Windows Media Audio Voice, 000A) not supported by the player." and after clicking "ok" in the error message box "Player: Video codec (MSS2) not supported by the player".

Guys these videos are from a certification course I'm taking and I've tried everything on them: converting files into a format that Betaplayer can play (when i had Betaplayer, a great player BTW :approve:) follow the instalations advices for TCPMP in some threads here and nothing has worked.

Can just someone tell me what's the difference between both files (I know nothing about videos or sounds files) that one will play and the other one won't?

This is very critical to me, since I must play my certifications videos on my ppc 'cause most of the time I'm on the road.

Please someone help!!!

WMV 9 files not playing

Hi I can't get this to work, despite using the Raw FrameBuffer. What am I doing wrong?
