If you find problems with this test version please report them.
I have an X5 and when I start to play a Divx video (avi), then move the slider, I get no sound. This happens very consistently. It is very frustrating. Otherwise, I love the program.
If you click on Options > Settings > Select page then Player and increase the buffer size that should be less of a problem mj. The more memory you have available for buffering the better. If you're using a microdrive check that box too.

CLR-GURU what's not working? Are you getting sound but no picture, or picture and no sound?
Hi Don't Panic!
I'm getting sound but no picture. Everytime I try to open a WMV 9 file I get the following error: "Player: Video codec (MSS2) not supported by the player!"
Tried running an xvid video with the intel 2700g decoder and got average 150% running speed (when benching) but with intel 2700g option, I only got 97% running speed with the same video. I guess the only difference is speed between the 2.

I've found that even our built in Windows Media Player does not play those files. I'm thinking this is an issue with the software used to make the presentations not our choice of players. As you probably know microsoft did not build in all of the capabilities of the desktop wmp version into our pocket version. I'll try the streams and see how that goes. brb
Update Even the stream comes through without a picture.

I've got a workarond for you CLR-Guru run the file through Windows Movie Maker and use the Video for Pocket PC format when you get to that part of the process. The files will now work in TCPMP with picture and sound using the RAW Framebuffer.

Sticking with the topic of TCPMP for PPC....I have an Axim x51v...am presently using betaplayer...want to use TCPMP for the new MP4 videos I am seeing around but don't believe it is ready for Windows Mobile 2005. Am I correct?

Hi Don't Panic! I've tried it over the weekend and it works :) Many thanks for investigating this. Your a real star :approve:
OK, brand new to this so bare with me. I'm heading off on a long trip in a few weeks and figured what the heck, as good as time as any to try to put DVD onto my X50v. Now, I've had no real problems getting the files in usable format (using DVD Shrink 3.2 and PocketDivx 3.5) and playing on TCPMP. My one gripe at the moment is that there is no rewind and I can not get it to step backwards with ANY of the hotkeys options. I've tried all the settings I found and tried single button taps, hold buttons, etc.. but it simply will not rewind or step back OTHER than to the beginning of the film. Not good if on a noisy plane I miss a word or two and just want to rewind a few seconds! Is there a particular way I need to encode the files to enable back stepping? I'm saving as .avi, 640x480, landscape, advanced options as 2 pass, deinterlace, VHQ, B-Frames, 25 fps, XviD and encoding off a single .VOB file. Any and all thoughts would be great.
I've tried upping the buffer size several times and I still have the problem. I can't move the slider more than a very little and still have sound. I have an X5-300mhz, PPC 4.20, and I now have my normal buffer size set at 8000kb. Am I doing something wrong??
Thanks, Mike ///\/\\/\////

@KenIRE-Try going to Options > Settings > Select page > Player and changing the Move Forward step and Move backward step settings to 60.

Thanks. Like I said, I'd already tried modifying the button options (though I didn't specifically say so, including the skip length). But I've sort of solved this but gotten a mystery at the same time. First I tried re-installing TCPMP but that didn't make a difference, I even installed it on my Wife's Axim (hoping that the earlier ROM on hers might make a difference) still no joy. So, as I enquired, I thought maybe it was how I was encoding that was causing the problem. So I grabbed a copy of FairUse LE (v 2.1) and did a few rips and bingo. They ALL play without a problem. But STILL the files I made using DVD Shrink 3.2 and PocketDivx 3.5 combo will NOT play. I also note that they won't play on my desktop either (XPS Gen 5) but the FairUse ones will. Really odd this one. Like I said, I'm new to the whole DVD/Video on the Axim, though that is one of the reasons I went with it as my Wife and I do travel a lot, that and I love my big boy toys! :)
If anyone has any thoughts as to why this was/is happening I'd like to be enlightened. I'm perfectly fine with using FairUse, but I'd like the option of alternatives should something I want to do later not be doable with FairUse.
