Better than most of the others and faster than all of them. Do you have any tips on using NeroDigital you would share? And thanks for the suggestion.
How much does this cost?

Great to hear! I knew you wouldn't be disappointed. As far as tips, you nailed it - I use use 200kbps/hour as a baseline bitrate. Try the Maximum Definition ASP profile, stereo dolby audio @ 96kbps, 44.1khz. I found that 48khz produces strange audio noises in BetaPlayer (although I haven't tested in the new TCPMP). When encoding movies, be sure to correct for anamorphic widescreen aspect ratios so you're not cropping the movie.

Nero 6 Ultra Edition is $80US downloadable. There's also a lighter version called
Nero Digital Pro for $30US.

The Ultra was on sale recently for $70 with a $50 rebate.
Shop around and you might still find it.

Thanks for the tips. I can't wait to try them out tonight. I have been looking for a good program for several weeks now and I was almost ready to settle for "good enough". NeroDigital is WAY better than just "good enough". And, unlike most of the other programs I tried it is not limited just to PPC use. THANKS AGAIN.

BTW...the thing that makes me feel real stupid is I already had Nero and use it all the time to burn CDs.

Thanks, when backing up a DVD do you need to first rip it to the harddrive or will it work straight from the disk?

You control the size, not NeroDigital. Experiment with the encoding settings and bitrates and see what's best for you.

NeroDigital does not support encrypted DVD content (you'll have rip 'em).

nero doesn't work for me for some reason. I have succesfully convertedt he file into nero format, but i just can't figure out how to transfer it onto my card. It always just freezes after awhile, or simply disconnects from active sync. I'm "quite" sure its not because of the slowness of the file size. since its only 200mb
