For WM player, you cannot create Playlists on your PPC - you have to create them on your desktop PC and sync them with the PPC. Set up an automatic sync within WM (desktop) and then choose which playlists you want to make available on your Axim.

That's almost true. That is - it would be true if someone very nice would not have created a way to do it.

Big cheers for Jonathan Misurda who made my life a bit easier.
Works great right on your PPC.

FYI - This may not be that intuitive - when using Playlist Editor if you want to get whole directories at once go to

Edit / Import

Have fun.

Hey thanks I'll try that tonight

What about GS Player? I figured out how to save a playlist although it seems comlicated (maybe I am doing it wrong). but how do you get them to come up in the playlist screed without having to go searching for them?

When you sync your Axim within WM (desktop) do you set it up as an SD card using a card reader, or do you sync the Axim itself? I haven't had much luck with either WM or Musicmatch in syncing my music with my Axim.

I have done it both ways and found that the card reader option is WAY WAY WAY faster, but the cradle option will also send the album art.

Yes, card reader is much faster, but via the cradle works more smoothly if you don't change a lot of content each time, and of course takes place automatically when your Axim is docked!

I've downloaded Playlist Editor - thanks for the heads-up bogdank - and it does work really well, adding a function not available within WMP. You just have to go to Menu, Update Library within WMP PPC before you can 'see' the playlist in WMP. But you can also simply click on the playlist in File Explorer, or even put an icon on the today page (if you use a launcher) for quick access! Nice software, I'll add my thanks to Jonathan Misurda!!

Glad it worked for you. If you ever find a bug or have a suggestion for a change let me know. Someday I'll update it with ID3 tag support and the like.

I think the program works well as is - simple, fairly intuitive, and effective. Makes a change from the many bloated programs out there! The only (v small) change I would propose would be to make 'All files' the default when you are searching for music to add to a playlist, rather than WMA files. As I use MP3, I have to change the 'Type' in the drop-down box every time I want to add content. But now thats getting lazy... maybe the next version could include an option for you to come round to my house and compile a playlist for me!!
