the file i have converted doesn't have any distorted audio, its fine to my ears. although, if your really picky, it does have a "clicky" sound. but ONLY if your VERY picky. I don't notice it at all under regular listening conditions.

I mean, if you want better audio, watch it on your $2000 hometheatre set up

Well bully for you, it doesn't on mysetup.

I want the audio to be clear, not high definition. Also the beauty of playback on the pda is portability.

I tried it and it workd quite well.

You are the only one having the problem, so do what the man said and try it at 96kb and if that doesn't work you got problems. Its not the program at that point.

Get over it.

Tried it at 96kb, still no good sound is distorted as if the volume is too loud.

Oh I do, I just use other programs.

You're not alone.
Either the motion is jerky or the sound is distorted and/or out of sync.
I've tried lots of different combos and I only ever had luck with the settings recommended by the developer.
And with those settings, the file is bigger and it takes longer to produce than its competitors.

It's 32 dollar competitors you mean ;). lol.

Well, if a lot of people are having this problem then I'll have to ask the dev'r, but to be honest, I don't look for amazing sound quality on my handheld--but i have never even thought of complaining about PocketDVD's sound quality. Gosh, every time you post it is something bad about Pdvd, it sounds like you just dislike the program in general, but to be honest i don't see why...

I do dislike the program because I tried it and I found it very lacking.
But that's not the point.
Others are also noting problems with it and when they do, you fans try to insult them by saying that they're inept or you try to gloss over the problems by saying that we're expecting too much.

Your comment about the pricing speaks volumes.
In essence: 'It's cheap so you can't expect it to be as good as the others'.
Something tells me that the developers would not appreciate your advertising strategy.

Your comment about not expecting amazing sound quality is at least honest.
But why you need to denigrate those that do expect such quality is still a mystery.

Tell you what....
Why don't you try something constructive for a change and post the settings that you use?
Then people can try to duplicate your satisfatory results.

At 24fps, Video at 240 Kbps, Audio at 96Kbps Stereo
Napoleon Dynamite: 219 megs
Office Space: 228 megs
Young Frankenstein: 269 megs
Anchorman: 226 megs

Good video playback and audio (listening through headphones it actually sounds awesome!).

Again, not DVD quality (at this resolution - none of the programs will be), but certainly acceptable. At higher conversion rates (which translates to 500 meg files) I can get close to DVD quality.

Are you recording at VGA or QVGA?
Thanks

Even though I have an x50v, I record at 320x240 - the QVGA equivilant.

Perhaps this logic is fuzzy, but I'm assuming that by going with a smaller resolution, that the file size would be smaller. I then playback at a "fill screen" view and the image still holds up respectably.

No it's free competitors, like PDE and Fairuse.

As for the sound quality, distorted and clicky sound is not what I want from a converter. If every program produced the sames results as pocketdvd/video then I could perhaps see your point, but they don't.

Your logic is correct 640x480 takes up more than double the space as 320x240. I think it has to do with the area equation but I could be wrong someone who knows the answer pls verify.
