It's certainly less processor intensive for playback. I can playback videos at 320x240 with the cpu running at 208Mhz on my x30H without a hitch, higher res ones (which are a bit pointless ona QVGA screen) I need to run the cpu at 624Mhz.

But that's not the point.
Others are also noting problems with it and when they do, you fans try to insult them by saying that they're inept or you try to gloss over the problems by saying that we're expecting too much.

Your comment about the pricing speaks volumes.
In essence: 'It's cheap so you can't expect it to be as good as the others'.
Something tells me that the developers would not appreciate your advertising strategy.

Your comment about not expecting amazing sound quality is at least honest.
But why you need to denigrate those that do expect such quality is still a mystery.

Tell you what....
Why don't you try something constructive for a change and post the settings that you use?
Then people can try to duplicate your satisfatory results.

You don't even understand how to set it up and you complain about being called inept when you bash software you don't even know how to use?

ps check my post history and find a single post other than the one above about this program and maybe you can call me a fan of it. I'm a fan of people not bashing software unless they are certain its not their or their equiptments fault. Its one thing to post your experience once and move on, but when someone feels the need to crusade for or against something based on that, that they need to take a step back and re-evaluate what they're doing.

More than 90% of problems with software are the users fault whether its old drivers, improper settings, a faulty piece of hardware, etc... So 3 people are having the problem, one of them probably has the sound quality too low because he is new at it and the other two seem to have an irrational dislike for the software... I guess we should just ignore all the people havinf sucess with it and call it garbage.

I'll add this and be done with this thread for good. There are so many factors involved with PCs that you could do something strange like update a Raid driver a year from now and have this problem disapear completely. This kind of oddball thing happens all the time and your experience is note worthy and if more people using high enough sound quality have this problem it may merit disregarding the program, but as it stands I'm not going to suggest others dump it based on insubstancial evidence.

Nothing irrational if the software doesn't work properply.

As I've already said, if it was a driver (or codec) problem then PocketDVD/Video wouldn't be the only program that would have that problem, on my system it is.

PocketDVD 1.1 has worked fantastically for me. Sound quality is great with headphones (which is really the only way I will watch movies). For $12.50 (and the promise of free upgrades)you can't beat it with a stick

I never said I didn't know how to setup the software and I don't believe anyone else did either.
Thank you for so blatantly proving my point.
You automatically assume that someone is inept if they have the nerve to say that the program is less than stellar.

And its an other to post ignorant and arrogant torts like this one:

Get over it.
I see you're a fan of bashing people instead.
BTW -- that 96kb setting does not jibe with the developer's own recommendations.
I guess the developer is inept too then.

I don't think anyone called it garbage but it takes only a few seconds to search and see that there are more than 3 people having problems with this program.
Go to the developer's own forum and you will see 10-11 sound-related problems on the first page alone.
Are they all evil incompetents?

It's probably also worth noting that despite being 1/3 the price of its competitors it still managed to avoid being on the best seller / most popular lists of both Handango and PocketGear and it only has 6 favorable reviews on both sites combined.
Tell me again about all the people having success with it.

Just tried PocketDVD and in my opinion this program sucks! sorry but the free method has better audio and better video. But just to be clear I did not use the tutorial featured here, I used this one: http://www.pocketmatrix.com/guides/dvd2divx/#ripping

its the best one, try it, you will not be dissapointed.
