Windows Media Player 10 Mobile Sync Problems
Hi,
I've been having a few problems getting the Sync feature of Windows Media Player 10 (Mobile and in Media Center Edition) to work. Everything works fine for about a minute or two, but then the ActiveSync connection closes for no apparant reason.
I have tried turning off any auto-power-off things, but there is still a problem.
Cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom,
You probably thought of this already, but have you checked under "Tools: Options: PC: Options" from your Axim ActivSync screen to make sure "Maintain Connection" is selected rather than "Disconnect when done?" This could cause the problem you describe.
Good luck,
Tracy Jo

Although that option is under "Remote Sync" I have tried it, but i'm not sure if it is helping as i attempted a sync in Media Center, and it failed, but trying a second time worked. Now for the next sync to see if it is fixed....

The problem is still here i'm afraid. Perhaps I'll get in touch with Dell and/or Microsoft.

I'm also having a problem syncing my X50V with Windows Media Player 10. I'm able to perform the sync without any problems at work, but when I attempt to perform the sync at home (with the same x50v), the system transfers about 6% of the first song, then locks. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I had the same problem dowloading sections of Audio Books. My X50V was plugged into a powered USB hub that was not plugged in. Plugging it in added enough extra power that the downloads no longer quit part way through. Since this seemed illogical to me, I gave myself futher proof by unplugging the powered hub again, but his time I also unplugged the other couple of USB devices attached to the hub. Now, even without external power the downloads worked.
Since some of these devices are just flash card readers (I don't have a multi format reader) they do not usually need to be plugged in. In any event when unplugged, these device's USB connectors are sitting right next to the hub, so it's no effort to plug them back in when needed.

Thanks very much for the response. Actually, I bought my Axim on Ebay, and only got a usb sync cable, not a cradle. Therefore, I can only connect via usb- when the axim is on, I can only synchronize (no power) and when the axim is off, I get power through the usb. So, I can see how your comment might apply. However, I use the same cable to sync at work, and it works just fine. Could my work usb port have more power running through it than the one i have at home?
