FairUse and 4:3 encoding settings
Have any of you played around with the 4:3 settins in FairUse? I just encoded my first 16:9 DVD using this program, and I have to say I'm very happy with the quality. I cropped out the black bars at the top and bottom, but this still left me with a very small image (about 50% of the Axim screen) when playing the video file with betaplayer.

So I'm re-encoding the video again. When choosing the settings, I hit the 4:3 button. This put a fairly small cropped image, centered around the middle of the movie. I thought this was a little small, so I expanded the left and right crop areas just a tad. But I'm definitely cutting off the sides of the movie.

I know you DVD fanatics say this is not the way to watch a movie, but I was just wondering if anyone is doing the same. I normally agree that I want to watch the movie in the correct aspect ratio, but when dealing with a screen size this small, I may have to give up a little, for a bigger picture.

Just wondering if anyone else is doing anything like this.

I did a couple with it and didn't care for it. I would rather have the bars on the top and bottom then cut so much form the left and right. But it is more of a personal preferance thing.
