Hi Guys,

I just got my Axim X5 400Mhz today, the biggest feature I wanted was the video playback, but of course out of the box it doesn't play jack. I installed, PocketTV, PocketMVP, PocketDivx Player and nothing provided me with video or sound. PocketTV would do nothing at all, it would just throw me back to the OS, PocketMVP kept going to a black screen and freezing requiring a soft reset & PocketDivx just kept loading the video up or something, the little circle kept spinning and spinning. I am quite lost at the moment and don't know what to do, at this moment in time I am ready to send this thing back because I can't watch The Simpsons...I know that this thing can play these videos but for some reason it won't play on mine.

Ok, first-did you install the software from your computer using Acivesync? It sounds like the programs might not be working because it wasn't installed properly.

Second, are you sure you have the correct video type for the software you are using, ie: AVI for PocketMVP?

Those are the only things I can think of. Video plays beautifully on my Axim 300. I used the quick guide to reencoding video found here

If you can't get video to work using that guide, I don't know what the problem is. The guide works great for most people. Good luck.
