same old boring problem...

choppy video! it is a .wmv file that I am trying to play. I have never been able to use "Beta Player" aka... with .wma files but I have not had a problem with Windows Media Player til recently.
Fine audio, choppy video with both players.
I can't figure what the heck the problem might be??
I am able to play mpeg podcasts without any trouble.

Are you converting a DVD to WMV format? If so, I would use FairUse Wizard for that and then use Beta Player to play the resulting AVI file.

If you are just playing a video you downloaded I would suggest trying a soft reset to clear things out before you play the file. It could be that the file is just a poor quality.

hi, thank you for your reply.
the videos are from my Cannon digital still that also has the video mode. they are in avi form and then I use Windows Movie Maker to add effects etc.
You are able to save it in avi format but the files are huge.
I have reset etc. this has been a problem for months. I have never been able to play a wmv file in Beta either. The only way I even get a picture is by selecting the raw format in the video options, but the quality is uhhh, horrible! :)

Try re-encoding in DivX or Xvid with Virtualdub then play with TCPMP ... there's a tutorial somwhere around the site.

Here you go:
http://www.aximsite.com/boards/showt...dub+video+file

The numbers are a little outdated, but you should be able to figure it out.

Thanks so much for your reply and further research!
I've just downloaded the program and will give it a try in the morning!
