Fairuse and audio

quick question about fairuse.

first of all, it's a great program. the process is pretty easy.
howevere, i used the program for napolean dynamite and everything worked. but, the audio is the commentary version. the three choices were english ac3 448k, espanol ac3 192k, english ac3 192k. i selected english ac3 192k, but the commentary comes on.

is there a way to turn the commentary off?

thanks in advance!

Yep, you have to reencode it and pick the correct one. Generally you don't have to mess with any of the audio settings other then checking the box for showing forced subtitles. Good Luck~

This has nothing to do with audio but I didn't want to start another FairUse thread just for 1 question. I have season 2 of Chappelle's Show and I only want to encode certain episodes instead of the entire DVD (Rick James, Wayne Brady, etc.) How can you tell what episode is what? Are they in order?

Thanks in advance.

My expierence has been that DVDs with several shows on them are usually in order. But you really just have to do it to see. Good Luck~

I kinda figured that...I was hoping there would be a trick or something so I wouldn't have to sit through encoding something only to find out it was the wrong episode. Thanks anyway, Fly. I knew I could count on you! :)

You can crop the encoding timeline (i.e. choose a specific range of frames to encode) at the crop screen. It gives a preview so you can see what episode is what.

EDIT: I misunderstood, I was referring to DVDs that have a single video track for all episodes on a particular disc. If there are separate video tracks, then guess which ones they are and rip them (or rip them all to make sure). At the crop stage you can preview which episode it is and only encode the specific ones you want.

That is a good idea, just move the slider around and see if you can tell if that is the one you want. Personally I did the whole season of Chappelle's Show, very funny stuff. :)

OK I just tried it myself, so let me offer a more specific walk-through because it is not that simple.

- Rip the episode tracks you think might be the ones (or all of them) normally using shift-select to pick a range of streams.
- Do the crop screen and at the encoding properties screen as normal, then hit defer processing. You will go to a screen that lists all the individual sessions you have.
- Select "create a new session". It will bring up the list of streams on the disc again.
- Pick each individual stream you have already ripped and press next. It will bring up the crop/preview screen for that stream (episode).
- Press back and go through each stream like this, noting which are the ones you want. They should be in order, but you can also tell by the chain number.
- Hit back once more to return to the list of sessions and remove the ones you don't want.
- Process all selections.

Thank you both. Yesterday, I did just that and it worked fine. I'm limited on card space at the moment so I wanna encode individual episodes separately to load about 4-5 at a time on my Ax. Of course I had to start of with the Wayne Brady episode and Rick James (b*%#@)!!! :approve:
