Compressing MP3 and Pod Casts

I am trying to figure out a way to compress Pod Casts to a smaller file size. They come as MP3s and can handle any degradation in sound quality that the compression will casue. Most of them are radio shows or books and don't seem to be affected. I have experimented with Windows Media Encoder. It does a good job in decreasing the file size about 40%. However it changes the file into a Windows Media File and you have to run each one individually.

Does anyone know of a better compression method and can run a group of files as a batch ?

Thanks

David

Try MusicMatch Jukebox-www.musicmatch.com
It is a MP3 player.
I'm not sure about the newest version(10), but I do know, that in musicmatch 8.1, you can convert between MP3, WMA, and WAV. You can batch convert your mp3s. Select MP3 to MP3 and lower the bitrate. I have been able to lower my recordings from 5 GB to several hundred MB. It works very well. Click on File>Convert Files

Happy Converting!
