Internet Audio

Is there a way to stream real audio and other audio such as radio stations through explorer?

WMP has an option to open a URL.

Other players such as GSPlayer will also do this.

It won't work with all feeds, but give it a shot.

Resco Pocket Radio lets you listen to a ton of pre-defined radio stations. Not only that, but you can add your own custom streams. The audio quality is great on my x50v :) Lots of stations to choose from!

Interesting. I've tried the Resco program. It is very easy to set up and use but I was not impressed with the sound. I've found the sound with GSPlayer much superior with Mort player running a close second. Maybe I didn't play with the settings enough ??

Both GSPlayer and Mort Player are freeware. To set them up you have to first go to www.shoutcast.com and download some music stations (they download as *.pls files). I have a folder called 'Radio' in My Documents where I store the stations in subfolders classified by type. Load the file into the media player to stream the content.

If you want to try GSPlayer check out this thread:

Jon Misurda has optimized the program for VGA if you have a VGA device.

Hope this helps.

Also, there are websites that have links to radio streams:

http://www.di.fm/
http://www.webradiolist.com/radios/

There are lots more; just Google "Internet radio".
