Wondering if I can do this...
Share the dvd rom on my desktop and use a program on my X50V to watch a dvd in the drive or a divx movie via 802.11b wifi? I have resco file explorer and can see the dvd rom drive on my desktop. So basically a divx player and a codec for the dvd file.

try www.orb.com it's free and as far as my experience goes it works great
