DVD to PPC thru MAC

I just recieved my Axim x50v. I use a MAC at home and PC at work. Was wondering if there is software available to rip/convert DVD from my Mac and sync with the Axim? I work for the State and can't use the PC for this.
Thanks

Yes there is but the selection of software is quite limited compared to what is available for Windows & Linux. These guides will get you started with DVD movie conversion, I would recommend you try Handbrake first as it is designed to be easy to use. MacTheRipper + ffmpegX is a more powerful combination but is probably not necessary until you know what you're doing.

I do not recommend syncing to transfer movies as it will give quite slow transfer speed, a memory card reader is much faster and does not require you to purchase any additional sync software. If you were thinking of trying to watch movies on your Axim without a memory card then forget it, the builtin storage area is too small for even the shortest films.

Well, I've been using FFMPEGX and I love it!!! Not as complicated as Virtual Dub (used to use that back in the good old days, before PocketDivXEncoder, Fair Use, etc) but I'm in need of a DVD ripper. Will iDVD or something like that rip DVD's? Do you know of the best program to rip the .vob files from the DVD? (or is it video.ts?)

Thanks for the help!

Anybody else have thoughts about this, as I have the same question. I see that MacTheRipper is dead. Which is the easiest way with good results?

Thanks Howard gonna check it out! How does the entire process unfold /which options do you select? I have TCPMP already, so I guess that is one part.
