I'm am thinking of buying a Axim X5. Well not thinking I just wondering if I should wait for it to be released in Europe or should I just buy a Sony or an Ipaq.

Well my question is, does anyone know if I'll be able to play my currently ripped divX 5 movies wiht the Axim. Do I have to reduce the resolution or will it just take 240 x 320. This is important as I have about 540 Movies now.

AFAIK, Pocket PCs only support up to DiVX 4.
I believe resizing is done on the fly, but for the smallest, smoothest videos, you'll need to use something like Windows Media Encoder, and make a new 320x240, 15-20fps, 22kHz (or whatever your preferences are) movie.

Many people are viewing movies on their Axims with great success.

Actually, the latest version of PocketMVP reads the Divx5 codec, so after I reduced them using VirtualDub to fit on my Axim screen, I was all set. You should be able to do the same.

Is where I got Pocket MVP it works great. I rip my DVDs and useing this guide http://www.pocketmatrix.com/guides/dvd2divx/ You can get the DVD into a 160MB Divx that plays very nice and looks very good!
