How to convert HUGE MP3s to something more storable (audio)?
A lot of my MP3 files are huge on my main system. There a way to convert them to something playable on the Axim X50v without losing too much quality?
My I have a lot of MP3 files decoded using Media Player and the average MP3 is 6MB to 8MB. That's perty big compared to some older MP3's I have around 1MB to 3MB (I used Music Match Jukebox on the smaller ones, Windows Media Player likes to made em fat!). Thing is I already have the MP3's on hard drive, a lot or huge in size. I would hate to have to scrounge up all my CDs again to re-rip em. ![]()

I will give that a shot, thank you.
I tried MP3 Audio Converter v1.7 this morning. Used WMA @ FM Quality. Made things a lot more basey. Was going to try their CD quality till I saw your recommendation. ![]() http://www.ezsoftmagic.com/mp3_audio_converter.htm

Threw the ones I converted this morning onto the SD card, and downloaded that GSPlayer (with X50mix). Went to try this new player out and it would not find any of the MWA files. Guess they not supported?

MS Plus!
I actually found that having MS Plus installed, I have a Convert To option and it converts there without having to buy another program.
I compared the suggestion and the Plus one on 64KB, and they were both the same quality. Thank You for the Heads-Up on the quality setting! 64KB is quite decent. Stuffed near all my files onto a 512MB SD card. Had a bit of trouble, ended up copying through the sync cable. /gah! I have card reader on my HP PS2610 printer, but it was either not writing all the files in one mass batch, or would error out and couldn't access the card without another reboot. Windows Explorer > Send To > My Device Followed the folder I had set up for it, and copied away. All done now! ![]()
