Your best option is to choose a final file size and then use the program recomended output video resolution. Keep in mind this does not have as much to do with "filling the screen" as you might think it does. A good rule of thumb is 100MB for every 30min of video. You can also set the sound to something like 96Kb/s and not notice any real difference. Give it a try and you will see how it works. You can also do a search around here. Lots of info on this topic.
