Can you describe the interface...is it similiar to the dvd to ppc or dvdxcopy where you just hit the "start" button? Is there an option where you can choose how big the converted file is? are there any issues with playing the movies on the X5? (wmp or pocketmvp?)Have been using Fribizio's guide..but this seems alot easier for only $10.99USD

The interface is very easy. You can either use the full auto mode and do nothing but set the final file size, or you can follow the walkthrough and have some more control. IMO, it has something for everyone form beginer to advanced users. Plus it is FREE! For me that was worth trying out in it's self.

As for how long it takes. I would say about average if not a little better then some of the other methods. But it really depends on the system you are doing them on. I have a fast P4 and 1GB of ram so a two hour movie takes just over an hour to do. But you can set up several to run overnight if you want. Good Luck~

tlav,

Welcome to the site!!!

You might want to check out the Tutorial Link on the "Quick Link" section on the aximsite home page. There are alot of helpful stuff on what/how to do stuff with your axim.

Hopes this helps. If you get stuck, I'm sure there is always someone here willing to help out in the forums section.

I assume you ment to say Windows Media Encoder instead of Windows Movie Maker. Windows Movie Maker would be a pretty poor choice.

Pocket dvd studio (pqdvd) problems

i am having issues with this software. I use it on a windows xp pro machine, for creation of wmv's for my x51v.

i have converted approx 8 dvd's, and they all produce the same, consistent crashes of WMP on the PPC. It freezes, requiring soft reset, whenever wmp controls are used (eg, full screen, pause, play, move play point, etc.).

i have written to pqdvd support, but don't have answers yet. i had an earlier issue with this software concerning the inability to get the split-file function working, and pqdvd support said they'd tested it, and that it works. mine does not.

i suspect that the issues are the result of WM5.0, or WMPMobile, but i'm not sure, and don't have solutions (yet?).

ps- i tried a second Dell x51v with the same results.

Fairuse users, what do you choose for your output video resolution and Final file size for use on your Axim and for storage on your Mem card. The guied says 640X272 with a 700MB final file size. What works best for your Axim? Thanks. (I have not tried this program yet).
