2 and 4 gig CF cards on the way soon.
<disclaimer: I did not write this article just posting for your amusement>
Imagine all the movies and MP3s you can put on these things.
Lexar has announced both 2GB and 4GB cards for $700 and $1500
If you have the need to have a ton of MP3's or photo files on transportable media, Lexar has the answer for you. Their 2GB card will go on sale this month at $700. The 4GB card will shelves at some point in the second quarter for $1500. These cards are designed for digital photo users, but there's no reason PDA lovers can't get into the mix. The CF slot is a big reason Axim and Toshiba owners bought those devices.
"Many professional photographers depend on the high-speed performance of our cards and have asked for higher capacity cards," said Eric Stang, president and CEO Lexar Media. "We are pleased to be the first company to bring 4GB CompactFlash to market, which is made possible by our advanced controller technology and the new industry leading 4-gigabit quad die pack flash memory from Samsung. The close Lexar Media and Samsung relationship allows us to collaborate to optimize our controller with the Samsung 4-gigabit flash memory device and deliver the largest CompactFlash available."
