Pocket Quicken is it worth it ?
I Love the desktop verison but the pocket sucks... Do you think the they will come up with an upgrade as close to the desktop verison and it would be free. If so I would be willing to go ahead and buying the downgraded version ?

Pocket Quicken will never be more than it already is. I've used it for years on my Newton and Palms and its never really moved beyond what it currently does. I think its worth it, but others do not....

i've been using Quicken (on my desktops) for years.I recently purchased Pocket Quicken as soon as it was made available for the PPC.

I really like it...it meets my needs very well.

Understand that it is not like the full version and nor would I really want it to be. It allows me the opportunity to input data on the go and view, at any time, my accounts.

It's Ok if you have the most up to date version of Quicken but the pocket version will not work with Quicken 2000 (which is what I had). I went for Microsoft Money instead of Quicken because in the UK Quicken seems to have moved to a product that gives only 3 months of support and is aimed at getting the user to pay more for a product that has limited functionality. Most UK banks fon't provide for statement download into desktop software.

So far I am really pleased with Money and it is great being able to have a cup of coffee after the shopping and update the accounts on my axim

Why would you want the full version on the Axim? I think its bloat that is not needed.

I'm sure the Pocket Quicken version we have is limited by the agreement that Landware and Intuit have with each other.

I use both Pocket Quicken and Pocket MS Money. (I use on for my business accounts and one for home accounts.) While I like them both, and really like the price of Pocket MS Money, I do prefer Pocket Quicken.

Of course Pocket Quicken has it's limitations when compared to the full desktop version, but for the basic function of updating transactions and keeping track of balances, etc, it is a great program. The user interface is simple, good-looking, and functional.

While the price of Pocket Quicken is too steep for a PPC application that is somewhat limited, I don't think that takes away from the basic quality of the program.

For me, since I use both PPC applications, the price would average out to be about $15.00 each, which I am comfortable paying for a good PPC program.

I too have used both MS Money and Quicken desktop versions. I started with Money back on 98 version. Converted to Quicken 99 and have upgraded quicken through to 2003 (free w/ turbotax purchases each time).

I purchased Pocket Quicken for Palm around January (was still young then and used a Handspring Visor).

Since, I grew up and converted to the Axim before PQ was released for PPC.

I asked the PQ company if they would offer a free PPC version since I had purchased the Palm version so recently.

They said no, but would offer the upgrade from Palm for $19 or $14 (can't remember).

Personally, for what you get, that is not worth it - just after paying $39.95 a few months earlier.

Though I did download and try the trial version.

I loaded up MSMoney 2003 on the desktop and MSMoney PPC (**free**) on my Ax.

Bottom line, I don't see any difference between the two that justifies paying a dime for PQ.

Go free, that's what will make you rich - then you will really be putting that Pocket Money to use!!
