Right now im considering getting the 400mhz axim, but the only thing holding me back is that the next axim that they put out will most likely have integrated wifi, which I will be adding by a card if I get the current one, and im sure the next one will be faster and better overall. I just dont know if I want to wait or not....Is there any news about the next axim that will be out?
I would wait...especially if you are thinking about it...but...next fall or winter they will be coming out with one to replace the one you are waiting for...so goes the dilema of us aximites...
I may just wait, as much as I would love to have one right now, I can do just fine with my laptop, and am saving money for some other big purchases this summer. Am only in college anyway..

Even before that, as soon as you place your order, before they ship the stuff, a new one is coming out. That is the way Tech works. You can't have buyers remorse, or it will kill you....

I have: Axim 400,Rhino Skin Leather case,
Home network: Lynksis wrt54g,wpc54g,wcf12,
1 Dell lattitude,1dell insperioin, 3 dell Dimension desktops and good 'lle Axi.
it might make sense for me to wait was well, but seeing how i have no patience and actually wanna utilise the axim right away, im gonna jump on the next best deal!
Buy now and pass it on to a family member or friend when you upgrade. You probably don't want the new one until others have worked out the bugs anyway.
In the tech world theres always something new coming around the corner, If you wait for the new one once they make that the rumors will start about the next big thing and then everyone will be asking if they should wait for that. I would just get the current one and enjoy it.

I agree with MrWallace. You'll never buy anything if you wait for the newest version. That's one of the ways the companies make money. There are those privileged individuals out there, who can purchase the "next big thing" every time it's released. See my thread about the new Axims (link below). There are 2 new ones definitely in the werx, and possibly a 3rd. I've got the X5 advanced and I love it... so go for it. You won't be disappointed.
I think it is time to stop buying the current X5 and wait to see what's next. I'm guessing Dell has many thousands of the new model waiting right now to ship the day PPC2003 is released, supposedly in two weeks or so. Dell isn't saying a word because they know the moment they do current X5 sales will plummet.
Now Dell could try a little honesty and say:
1. Yes we are releasing the new model when PPC2003 is announced.
2. It's OK to buy the current one because we will be offering a PPC2003 upgrade for the X5 at cost.
Then X5 sales probably wouldn't suffer much at all. But they aren't saying it. And this worries me a lot, especially because there have been very disturbing rumors that say that Dell won't be doing number 2 -- so screw Dell.
Don't buy the current model.
Everyone else reading this thread: don't buy it. Just wait a few weeks. It will be worth it.
A ton of new models are also about to be released by other companies too and there is going to be quite a bit of competition and something of a price war.
i'm lookin to buy one, i really want one but i guess i can wait if its a few weeks. i'm confused because some people are saying june, others say november which one is it??
Our company has a partnership with Dell and in the RoadMap presentation (where they show new products to us), their new Axim didn't have a SD Slot. Anyone here this too?
