Okay... I know I am going to get flack for this but I had to do it. I just purchased a Samsung SPH-i700 from Verizon Wireless because I could not deal with two separate devices anymore. Does anyone have the phone/pda already? What do they think?

If that is the new combo phone and Palm unit, I think you did well. I have had the SPH i300 since it came out and use all features profusely. Hint: Buy extra batteries and any accessories you need early, since Samsung gets lazy about supporting the device after a few months.

I use the SPH i300, but use my AXIM for heavier duty apps, including Excel, Word, mapping programs, SD and CF cards and a modem for email. With the two of them, I no longer have to carry my laptop.

The new Pocket PC phone combos seem too large for me.

And I forgot to mention -- a keyboard for my Axim goes along. Works great.

I am curious how much did you have to pay and what is the size comparison to the axim? I am in Canada but really want that unit baaad!!!! please reply

I looked up the SPH-i700 and it is not the one I thought but is the PPC version of PPC-cell phone. Mine is Palm. It is shown on the Samsung website and appears to be smaller than the AXIM. No prices. Not clear what countries it is available in. Sorry I assumed.

imapfsr - I love the device. I bought it direct from the Verizon Wireless Call Center for $549.00 because I had a customer service coupon and took the 2 year deal.

Excellent phone, great pda... I am a big fan of Pocket PC - much more than Palm. Thanks for the great comments guys!

My dad had the SPH i300, which i loved to play with, very nice. Then he got a Treo 300 which i loved too. Now he has some weird RIM blackberry thing. I miss the treo.

I played with one a day ago. The screen is great. It seemed as bright or a little brighter than the Axim. The Samsung also has better color saturation (grass on Bliss theme was much more "greener"). The stylus is a little weird. It telescopes and pulls out from the bottom of the unit. The unit felt a little heavy (with the extended battery), but not too big especially next to my Axim. Overall, an impressive unit.
