Mini-Sync for Axim: Sync & Charge
Boxwave came out with Mini-Sync, which is supposed to Sync&Charge Axim:
http://boxwave.com/products/minisync/ms_dell_axim.htm

for $18.50 +S&H.

I ordered one. My opinion: it is indeed very light, portable and very durable and simple to use (just be sure to pull BOTH ends to extend the cord). And it always Syncs very well.
Problems? YES. Charge feature is very starnge: sometimes it works, sometimes it does not and orange charge indicator goes off, battery indicator drops to 0. This never happens with Dell cradle.
Note that Boxwave money-back policy is strange (14 days unopened), but their customer service is EXCELLENT! They reply on emails almost immediately and they replaced my Mini-Sync for free. However, the new unit also gives troubles periodically and I need to soft reset to restore charge feature.

Does anyone experience similar problems?

This is why you have problems....

USB Sync Cable Issues

Seems that the USB ports do not put out enough power to charge an Axim below about 40%.

Thank you, James. This is exacatly the problem. So it means that Mini-Sync is not a problem, just all Axims are power-hungry on charge. Indeed, if battery is charged above 1/2, Mini-Sync works.

IMO this is a HUGE problem with Axims. I'm not sure if there is anything one can do to fix this. I guess this is why Dell does not offer a USB sync cable....
