Question Travel USB Sync Cable from Dell

I bought the extra USB sync cable from Dell when I ordered by Axim and use it at work.

It did not come with any details on what it does (obviously it syncs as it is named).

However, I am curious if anyone knows, does it charge?

I have been very impressed with the 'low power' usage of the Ax. My battery has never been below 75% (including times of 1+ hr movie watching and all day use). On the contrary, I have read posts that say the Ax is a power hog.

Now I am wondering if the cable has just been keeping the Ax charging during the day when I thought it only sync'd.

No, it does not charge, but I believe you can order, a USB sync cord that does from:Seidio

Just beware that the USB doesn't have enough power to charge a Axim that has fallen below about 40% charge remaining... You may need to still carry around a AC Adapter just in case...

braz,

Did your moonlight Sync-Charge works when battery is low, say 25%?

I tried BoxWave Mini-Sync, and although it is great, very portable, durable & always Syncs, it fails to charge when battery is low. I heard that this is the case with ALL USB chargers for Axim.
Curious if Moonlight USB charger has the same weakness?

Its a problem with the Axim, not the chargers... It seems that every charger has that problem...

jigirl,

To be honest I have no idea. If others say its a problem with the axim then im sure it is. I have only had my axim for about 10 days. (I do love it) Other than that the cable does work well and it does recharge. But as far as the 25% goes I just dont know yet. Hope I helped.

Just to add, other USB Sync cables have the same issue (including my Gomadic USB Sync cable).
