I've been working on a new car audio interface for Axim X* (X50, 50v, 51v). It is now ready for beta testing with the following car makes supported:
- VW
- AUDI
- BMW
- Mini
- Honda
- Toyota
- Acura
- Lexus
more car makes to follow...

For now I'm just looking for a beta testers who have the car makes above and willing to test something new :)
In short the Axim interface allow you to:
- listen to your digital music from Axim on car stereo. Direct connection gives CD quality. No mess with FM or Cassette adapters
- charge Axim while driving
- control your plalists on WMP from car stereo ( FF, REW, Track/Disk navigation, Mix, Scan etc )
- send back track info to a car stereo ( currently supported Disk, Track, Time )
- simple installation ( plug-n-play )

That would be nice. My 15 year old Honda doesn't even have a CD player. Do I qualify?

How about mounting? Do you have any solutions for that as well. I know there are some available, but the more options, the better.

I'm interested in this project. I currently drive a 2001 Toyota Corolla. The car has a tape deck but no CD player. I currenty use my Dell DJ with a tape adpater to listen to my music.

Thank you all for the interest. Here is the pic for PC version of the interface ( Honda shown ).

Axim version has different connectors and additional functionality for charging @ 1A.
First version of the interface will have only back stereo mounting (no trunk cables yet ). You can always get them later if needed.
The beta test version will be $35+ shipping. Right now the only app supported is the WMP ( Windows Media Player ). There will be TCPMP plugin as well for the release version.
I expect to send the first boards out in 2 weeks. Will post more information mid next week with all the details. Let me know if there are any questions, concerns or ideas. Will be glad to hear.

How does it work? Does it plug into the CD changer port? What if I have oem changer in place?
