I've been intrigued by the UMPC for a while. It seems like a very easy combination product that would solve lots of issues. Every time I read about them they seemed to have many limitations, and yes, the price! I purchased a portable media center just so I could have lots of memory for pictures and movies and work files. Just seemed very practical to have a huge hard drive in a small package. I think Dell has had this in mind for a while -- remember, they are really hardware manufacturers and got caught up in the WM5 debacle because they were forced to. Keep watching out for us, Aximsite posters.

I wouldn't expect much of this. Dell has shown zero interest in the tiny UMPC market, and Ultranauts doesn't have a great record with regard to rumors.

Actually, the supposed time frame and the rumour in general fits in with a comment made by MS.
"You'll see an additional wave of UMPCs available in the holiday timeframe, We are seeing a lot more Tier 1 players get a lot more interested in releasing the UMPC"
LOL, I think even if the UMPC offered everything mentioned above, I would still love a Note book(which would be cheap because of the UMPC's being so affordable and ultra cool) and a Pure PDA(Which would be cheap from the Phone/PDA combo and the UMPC's with fast startup)

Nintendo's next gen device should be the "wii wii" then?
Yup.
You can just hear all the parents going: "Stop playing with your wii wii, now!"
