Is this new or have I always just missed it?
Just went to order a new Clarivue and saw this new option and wondered if anyone had any info on this product.
Does it work similar to the 3m privacy filter?
THink I might order one but unsure due to the fact that there is no product photo or online info. http://www.clarivue.com/detail.asp?k...Dell_Axim_x50v

If you get them, let us know what you think of them. I don't think I do anything on my Axim that I need to shield it this way but you never know.

LOL
I don't think anyone needs a privacy guard for their axim, but I was on a plane last weak and sitting next to this person who kept looking at my axim. I didn't care but it WAS creepy..
I recently bought the Clarivue screen protector and applied it to my new X51V. I find the surface attract a lot of lint and is also grippy. Also already have scratches on it with the stylus. I've only had it for couple days.
Privacy??? What does this do? Prevent someone from seeing inside your turned off LCD screen? From a screen guard aspect this might be a useful item As a privacy item, this has to be one of the silliest and useless PDA accessories I've ever seen!

hmmmm........ I guess I'm the only sneaky one around here. The screen is very clear and there are times when I am at a meeting when I want to check email, but I don't want to appear to have tuned out of the meeting at hand :hide: (even though I have)
It definetly protects the screen from Peeping toms, but it isn't as clear as many other protectors.
I put it on with no problems but the bubbles took forever to work out.
with the screen on you can see the sloping lines of crosshatching that stop people from the sides from looking in, so your view is fine, but has lines running across it like a QVGA screen.
It is nice protection though and has great antiglare, but writing on it is like writing on silicon versus writing on the Brando Ultra clear i use to have was like writing on paper.
I would put it at about a 7 out of 10 with boxwave antiglare a 9 and brando an 8 along with the normal Clarivue.
I think I am going to buy another brando except the normal version this time.

The idea is that it's specially designed to allow you to see the screen only if you're looking directly at it. Therefore, somebody standing next to you, or sitting on an airplane, wouldn't be able to look at the screen of your laptop/handheld and see what you're doing, or any potentially sensitive information displayed on the screen.
Update after only two days of usage, I can see everything I have written or moved in a scratch or maybe it is an indentation because these seem very gelatinous screen protectors.
Not only do they leave balck lines running across your screen and get scratched from anything and everything.
These are a stay away from protector and a must not have product.
Check out ttools.com for a privacy protector that works!

How do you know they work if they are not currently available? or did I miss something on their website.
They are currently available and you can order them fine they just are terrible quality and terrible customer service.
I emailed then requesting a replacement that does the job or a refund and they sent back
Hello,

They want me to pay for my return of their crappy screen protector without a refund.
This is a caution product, stay away.
Transparency sheets protect a screenn more and fight scratches more than these.
Also the privacy feature is a fraud it doesn't actually work i have tried it out in many conditions, the worst the screen looked was fuzzy but still visible and legible.
I think I am going to go get myself a G3 for my x51v even though they say it is in beta, anybody try this or should I just go for the x50v version, will they fit the same.
