I find that with my Ratoc USB CF host controller Seagate momentum perpendiculur 2.5" HDD in a USB OTG 2.5" hard drive enclosure with builtin battery OR external power & Rasco File Explorer works fine for free space info etc. Hope this helps with the SolarExpress.

To night I updated the driver and tried a keypad and a mouse from a kit for laptops. The good news is that both of them works. The bad one, is that there is no mouse cursor so you don´t know where you are clicking. Both of them work without external power.
And the other hand I don´t know yet what it was but after I was done testing it, I find out the axim buttoms had stoped working and I had to do a reset to get them back.

One more thing that it `s worth mention it, is that with this new update you don’t need to select on the type of input (USB Keyboard) as before. Now you just write automatically.

Have you tried using nyditot or some other program that makes the cursor visible? I'm considering getting the solarexpress but I'd prefer knowing how effective it is first....

Two things about this USB host card that I want to know:

-Can I use USB gamepads with it?
-Does a USB mouse work well with a Doom or Quake source port? One hand on the X50v itself and the other on a mouse could be a very effective way to play FPS on it.

I have not tried any of those things but give me time.
Also it is good to know that solarexpress is still working on it as they have just released a new update.
Now they say (can not confirm yet) you can have two external disks.

The most amazing part of this thread is the fact that this product apparently doesn't exist:

The most amazing part of this thread is your brain doesn't exist.
The fact that CaUcHy using it proves it so. Are you sure you're not from Ratoc?

Before you go off the deep end (looks like it's too late already), please understand that my post was a minor jibe at the number of posters here who have consistently and repeatedly insisted that this product was vapourware, was never going to be released, and ridiculed each and every statement the company made.

Do a search and you'll see how many embarrassing posts there are on this forum which tell Axim users not to bother with this company or product, and tell them that it's a waste of time waiting for it. Quite hilarious.

I was not saying that the product does not exist. Next time I might make the /sarcasm tag visible.

Inside the package came:
1 CF II USB Host
1 CD (driver v1.0 and TCPMP rc1 v0.72)
1 Cable (male mini USB to female USB)
I’ve got the user manual and the driver update through e-mail.

Up to now I have try it on 2 Axim 50v; one with WM2003se and the other with WM05.
It works perfect on both at least with my USB card reader.:)
I will update as soon as I get other things to try it with.
Hola Cauchy,

Veo que somos dos desde este lado del mundo :approve:

Te escribo en ingles porque sino aca en el foro me cagan a pedos.

Why did you chose this brand instead of Ratoc´s ? Maybe there´s something I do not know, as I am planning in buying a USB host card for my x51v.

Saludos y suerte,

Saludos y suerte,
First I checked that other users had already purchased the solarexpress just in case.
Then I saw the price tag in each product. Solarexpress u$85 and Ratoc u$139 plus shipping in both cases; and Argentina is not a cheap destination around u$40.

Also the fact that ratoc`s uses a special cable wich looks to me very fragile compared to the standard mini-usb on the solarespress. And replacing a mini- usb cable in Argentina can be done but ratoc `s cable would be another story.

But I have to admit the extra bulkiness of the solarexpress is not very confortable to carry around but I can live with it.

Hope this help.

Deje has a mouse pointer app called mpointer. I've used it before on my Toshiba e750 and it works well but if you touch the screen while using the pointer sometimes the calibration is lost and you have to recalibrate it.

Cheers.
