well they are made in china i think, cos they have chinese instructions, have a look around you might be able to find it in your neighbourhood ;)

And I made a miss calculation in mp3 playback potential... LED 5 is still lit solid that means potentially it has more than 90% power which means 10 x 10 hours = 100+ hours of audio playback with screen off.

All this for UK£40 I feel like I bought a complete bargain :D

kewl! I found a china site that has it... gonna think on it abit before i take the plunge though. more thought on the legitimacy of the site vs the product itself.

Look at the picture. This is not a standard USB connection, the USB power output from the battery goes to a standard power plug and the Axim charging dongle. This means that you are not charging via the Axim's USB, so you will not see that charging limitation. The battery's output can obviously support much more than the standard 500 mA maximum USB spec, it's just used as a standardized power output. Lots of things will recharge from USB.

I did not buy the i-UP 5400 from the previous site since I could not get over the dodginess of the site.

I eventually bought this from ebay because it was a lot cheaper. The pics are from another seller (not as watermarked) but it's the same product. cost me USD 11.90 + shipping USD7.95
(from Hong Kong to Singapore)

(Upon closer inspection, the picture and my actual product is exactly the same EXCEPT that my logo is not "PEGA" but "FireBird" with a different logo, both in the front and back. Will post pictures when I borrow a camera.)

Just received it today and am trying to run the same tests as FunkyCowie :) so trying very hard to discharge it completely now!

There are many sellers in ebay and I went with the cheapest (incl shipping). I actually forgot I bid for it till I received the notification email :P

I gave up trying to drain it already (yea i'm impatient) It charged my default 1100 mah battery from 30% to full and a GBA from 50% to full.

Plugged it in to charge about 2hr 30 mins ago. The light is red and should change to green when full. (It's green when you switch it on to charge a device)

It's the same width and thickness as my x51v. I'll have to remember to weigh it later. It comes with a cheap transparent plastic case that just wraps around the sides and bottom, with a loop that detaches on one end with a button. I use the loop to hold the adaptor. Will have to get that camera!

Interesting... but sounds/looks bigger than the I-UP, well it holds more power aswell so I guess that'd be why. You'll have to run a few tests :)

Does it charge whilst using your axim?

What sort of power supply does the I-Up use? Is it a big horrible brick, or can I charge it over USB?

Thanks for that, I'm also looking at the proporta one. I don't really fancy an interal battery and charger for my varioII,so one of these looks like the way to go.

How long does a full charge of the I-up take?
