I'm just about to plump for one of these and I was wondering if you are still happy happy with this unit? Specifically I would like to know at what percentage the PDA etc needs to be charged so as you're using it it is also recharging and maintains 100% power?
Also I don’t suppose the battery pack will power a 16 v Sony VAIO VGN-U50 UMPC, can you buy different connectors for different gadgets? I’m not sure what amps it will draw, how do I tell? If this unit will not do my mini laptop I’ve got my eye on this unit from expansive.co.UK, Tekkeon myPower All MP3300 Tekkeon myPower All MP3300 Description - eXpansys UK , which as you can see is a lot more expensive and only goes up to 14 V and I’m not sure if this would power my unit?

Any thoughts appreciated as I am little bit out of my depth as you can tell

Has anyone from the states bought this yet? If so from where? I so need an external power supply for flights because the battery life is very poor on this thing. I was so surprised at how hard it is to get power adapters for this because it draws so much more power the other PDA's. I just got a USB sync/charger cable that has an electric socket adapter. When I tried to use it I was unpleasently surprised that if the PDA has less then 1/2 power it won't charge. AND if I try to charge it with the unit on it won't work either. I would really like to get this power adapter you are using.

In the states

I live in the U.S.
I wrote to the site, and they said they'd deliver it.. it comes to about 60$ not including whatever shipping is..
I just don't know which one to get ... there seem to be different models.
Cowie can you provide a direct link to the one you got?
or maybe a model number ...
I have an X51v, but the one's I'm seeing say they are custom tailored for phones. (Toshiba Portege G500)

Also I'm not sure how the electricity diff. works .. does anyone know if this device will work in U.S.?

If the stars align, I'll buy it.

I-UP in the US

I guess no one answers old posts, but if you are like me, and just now getting to this post here are the details of how I got one of these in the states...

It seems to be flat rate shipping, and it came out to $96.58 in all - I did go for the overnight post in hopes it'd help, but to no avail...

The only thing that wasn't good for me was waiting 5 days for paypal to clear...
After finally clearing the item arrived at my door in 12 days.
I was able to get a UK to US voltage converter from my local radio shack for around ten bucks.
there are a few different i-ups listed on the site . . fear not it's just listed to show that it works with more than one device, and regardless of which one you get you'll have the right connections in the box.

By the way I wrote to the site about 4 times total, and every time it took them no more then a day to get a response to me.
They were very informative, with personalized responses... I didn't get any "bot backs" as I call them...

Any questions are welcome

ps. I wonder... with the amount of instructables going around if someone wouldn't be able to make one of these at home for a huge cut in price.
