Quick magnet answer...............

I saw a few responses asking if the speaker had a magnet.
The answer is most likely not. I haven't taken apart my new Axim but chances are that is a Piezo-electric speaker and has no magnetic field. (That's just a quick answer.) I wouldn't determine the magnetic "snaps" to be a danger but I myself would not use one either. I like the firm "SNAP". To each his own I guess.

Has anyone tried or heard of this case. looks similar to the Sena with the bonus of magnetic closure (no snaps to fiddle with). One advantage I see is with this sight is I can order other things needed and only pay one shipping charge.

I hope I put the link in right.

Grinder Gear Basecamp

Just got the Grinder Gear Basecamp in the mail today. Loaded it as quickly as possible. It looks great. I've now got my Ax, phone, pen/stylus & wallet in a single package. The padding around the container seems great.

It's a little bulky and you can't plug head phones into it while you're carrying it, but overall, for my needs, this is the greatest case ever. I'm in love.

Vaja now has an Axim case. I bought mine yesterday. Check it out on their web site. I am not sure if they are actually shipping yet.

This may be more information than some want to know, but I thought I'd post info on magnetic stripes used on cards...

The magnetic stripe is rated by it's 'coercivity', or how strong a magnetic field is required to affect data on a card. Two types of stripes are used, 'HiCo' and 'LoCo'.

HiCo is highly immune to stray magnetic fields while LoCo is more susceptible (and less expensive). Their application is usually determined by how often they'll be used (HiCo frequently, LoCo less often). You can tell if a cards stripe is HiCo or LoCo by its color. HiCo is black and LoCo is lighter brown.

Typical applications...
HiCo- Access cards, time cards, debit & credit cards, drivers license
LoCo- membership cards, retail customer loyalty cards

So, in most cases your safe using a case with a magnetic closure but I can't say with certainty if there may be any effect on a PDA, but I doubt there is.

I think I'll shut up now....:p

I've got the Dell zippered leather case....not too bad...keep a couple of SD cards there along with my spare battery. Also, although there is no holder for it, I keep my Seinfeld "Space Pen/Stylus Combo" in there. Wish there was a holder for it.

What I'd really like is a case that is large enough for a set of ear buds and has compartments for spare batteries, WiFi card (if I ever get one!!!), SDs, CFs, stylus holder.....etc. It doesn't need a belt clip, but I'd like a case that holds alot of stuff!
I just end up throwing the Axim Case in my briefcase, but it would nice to have a case that holds all the other stuff that always getting lost in my briefcase.

Anyone know of such a beast?!?!?!?

I own one of the iProducts covers. I got the iGuard not the belt clip..it works awesome. You can order it with a handstrap and thats the best part. I could not find anything else with a handstrap. I would hate to drop my Lil Buddy. I works good and also provides awesome protection. I also carry a lowepro bag that can fit all my stuff and my wallet.

Cool One More Case Option

I'm suprised nobody has mentioned it yet but I will. Covertec is a company in France that is coming out with a case for our Axim on March 10th. The case is made of really fine Black, Brown or Red Leather and has room for some SD cards and Credit Cards. You can listen to music via an opening for headphones when the case is closed and also synch with the case on. To check out the case go to www.covertec.com or check out these pics below:

Nice case! How much? If its not too much more than the Sena's, I'll definately cancel my sena order! But if its anywhere like Vaja... boy... I'll just look at it.

Oh, and how did you get those pix? I went to their site, and it only has 'coming soon' that doesn't link to anything.

Cheers.
