That is a good looking case. It has a more rugged, tough look. Kinda like the leather is more like a saddle leather than a soft leather.

I couldn't find anything on it at there site either.

Covertec Pics and Price

Hello All,

The price for the Covertec is $39.90. I got this price and the pictures from Covertec after responding to my email. I originally was goingt to purchase the Sena case. However, this case looks like it is far superior in quality and craftmanship. If I were you, I'd wait until 3/10 to purchase this case from Covertec.

Personally, I'm going to buy the Basecamp case from Grindergear for everyday use (http://www.grindergear.com/basecamp.html) and also purchase the Covertec for use at work and going out to nice places. Post some pics and info once you make your case decision. I'll do the same...

There's an English version no? I went to their site and it was English.. in fact there was many countries to choose from.

Cheers.

Leather Holster from Nutshell

After looking long and hard, I opted to go with the Holster style case from Nutshell. I'm glad I did - as I'm really impressed with the quality of how this case is made. I prefer to handle my Ax out of the case, so this is exactly what I was looking for.

I'll post some pictures when I return home - the Ax fits perfectly and is well protected. The only negative is the lack of storage pockets, but I would take the size of this case over the added bulk any storage area may add. I have a lot of storage needs already (extra cf cards, wireless card, etc), so I use my Dell case for that - works perfect.

I'd really love a fliptop case that can fit over this beast:

http://www.dlink.com/products/wirele...f660wDwnLd.jpg

with it installed in the Axim. Does anyone know of such a case?

Also, anyone that has tried to fit their case of any kind over their wireless card and had it fit? Or how about a case that has a place to unobtrusively hold the card? So far, only one person listed a case that fits with the card, but it's not a flip top and utilizes velcro (which I despise):

Also it seems like this one might work, but again it isn't a flip top:

Last question:

Does anyone have a picture of the cheap case they throw in with the Axim? I don't have my Axim yet, so I have no idea what it is like. Dell just shipped today.

I guess they must really like me?? ;) I'll just use the email they sent me to enforce the lower price. However, I don't think I'd buy if it actually costs as much as they told you. Thanks for the post.

Need 2 Cases

I bought the NiteIze case for work (when protection is #1)
http://www.niteize.com/mb_home.html

and the Sena case for when I want class.

P.S. I would also boycott the French (Stinky-le-Pue) mfg for now.

kneese,

I like that NiteIze holder you posted. Checked their site, and found out I can get it at Lee Valley Tools, who have a store in town. They have it for $29.95 CND, which is $19.85 USD.

I too have a Sena on order, but will check the NiteIze out and probably use it for work.

Alternative to Nite Ize

I just received my Basecamp from Grinder Gear. Man, this thing is sweet! I can hold the Axim (perfect fit), cards, spare battery and anything else I need plus clip it on to my belt. It's very durable and looks great too! Check out their site at www.grindergear.com.

I've been using the pocketcover by pocketsolutions. It creates a very protective flip cover. I almost never need to use the leather/plastic cases with this and it's keeps the axim very portable.

I just orderd my Basecamp from Grinder Gear. I like the option of slapping my cell phone in the net pocket...and it has a place for cards etc.

Do you know the dimensions? The company hasn't responded to my email. The EB dimensions - from their website - are:
5.1"x3.3"x1.2"

It looks a little slimmer than the EB case, but it doesn't have the magnetic closer which is nice.

I found the search for a case more daunting than the search for a PDA. :D

In the end, I got The Holster from Pocket Solutions. I simply wanted something I could clip on my belt, and then remove the PDA by itself.

While I haven't tried it this way, it looks like the strap that goes over the top to hold the PDA in has enough give that you could keep a CF wireless network card installed and not have any problems.

What I like best is that the clip seems very strong. I don't have any fear of this thing falling off.

So, I'm happy with what I got, but I could easily see myself picking up one other type of case and switching between the two based on what the need might be.
