What cases have people bought and tried out? Which ones are the best?

I have the Dell zipper case. It's a decent case, you can keep SD cards and business cards on one side of the case. The other side of the case holds your Axim. For some reason, the case doesn't look like it's keeping the Axim in place, I'm afraid to turn the case upside-down to see what happens! Also, there's no room to keep my new wireless CF card in that case. So for basic storage, the Dell case will do.

Depends on how you use it. I like the light, slim, quick draw features of the EB slipper case with belt clip for everyday wear at work. I like the fact that you use the Ax while still in the protective case. For travel, I pack the Ax in its Eb slipper case along with travel sync / charger kit and mem cards, etc into the Rhinoskin RhinoPack 3000 Sport Case.
Works great for me! :)

I just found out about a new case coming out next month from Sena Cases. It looks similar to the EB and Vaja cases. They are supposed to begin shipping Feb 25th for the Axim case. They're also running a special of $29.99 if you order early. They look nice, but I have seen any of them before. They have storage for SD cards, credit cards, misc.
Someone else said Vaja was going to have one and would email them when it was available, but I heard the same thing over a year ago when I was looking for a case for my Handera 330 - it never came.
I'll probably order one from Sena and see if the quality is as good as it looks. It looks a little slimmer than the EB case, but it doesn't have the magnetic closer which is nice. Here's the link:

i don't know why you like the magnetic closer so much. i don't let anything magnetized withing 5 feet of my AX, call me paranoid, but I don't want ANYTHING happening to it. magnets & flash device (especialy w a TFT screen and flash memory) don't go together. i think the EB case is kick ass except for the magnet lock, they should just copy sena's snap closer and then i would buy the EB case w/o hesitation.

Or is it???
The first time I heard of a magnetic closure I thought "not near my Axim". But doesn't the speaker have a magnet in it??

I just received a CEO Universal PDA Case -- Large from Marware. It is $24.95 plus shipping. It is leather with a removable swivel belt clip and the case uses a velcro closure. It is well made and fits the Axim very well. The sides of the case are stretch material like the Dell case. This makes it easy to insert or remove the Axim. The leather on the case is about a 1/4 inch longer than the Axim and the closure strap that loops over the top of the opening also has some additional clearance. The Axim is easily removable and the case holds it securely despite the extra room at the top. The belt clip is rather large, but appears to be similar to many others that I have seen. It has a push button release so you can leave the clip on your belt if you want to just remove the case. The front and back of the case have a rigid insert so you can put the Axim in screen out or in and have protection both ways.
If you are looking for a belt mounted case, take a look at this one. Make sure you get the Large one if you order since that is the only one that will fit the Axim.

A point very well made indeed! I hope the magnetic field isn't too strong as to mess up the creditcard strips :P But I guess it must be really weak, which explains the inaudible tweets my Ax makes when I tried to play mp3's with it :D
Cheers.

One more note about the Marware case. I have a Socket low-power Wi-Fi card and it sticks up about half an inch above the top of the Axim. The Axim still fits in the case with the card installed :) and the strap still reachs over and closes properly. Now I do not regularly carry the Axim with the card installed, but it is nice to know that I can.
I also figure that if I get the long-life Dell battery, the Axim will still fit in the case.
