They are supposed to start shipping on the 25th.

Let me take this time to remind everyone to sign up for the newsletter to be entered into a drawing for the Sena Axim Case.

Thank you efrainf.

Those are some nice cases. The prices are very reasonable with the pre-order discount. Much better then the $70-ish ones I had been eyeing.

I sent them an email today to clear up a few things. and it reads...
Quote:

Hello,
I am a Dell Axim owner who is looking to get a case. I am very impressed w your Axim case. I have a few questions before I decide to buy.
1. What does the back look like, is it totally smooth or does it have a notch for a clip? Are the back surfaces different for the clip/ no clip versions? I'm more interested in the version w/o a clip so I would like a smooth back.
2. Will the Axim and the case be able to fit on the cradle and synch?
3. Can You send me some pictures of all the 6 sides of the case with an Axim in it? I just want to make sure that all of the holes/buttons/slots... are accessible.
I have only heard good news about this particular case, I would just like to see everything before I purchase one.
Thank you for your time,
Will
and their response...
Quote:
Hello Will,

Here are the answers to your questions:
1) THe back is smooth only at the NO-CLIP version. The ULTRA-CLIP version has a tab at the back.
2) Our Axim cases are not designed for cradle use.
3) In about 4 days, we will put more pictures to our axim page.
Regards,
Frank
in my opinion, great customer service considering i sent it at 8:00 in the morning EST and recieved a reply at 10:00a.m. I'm definately going to get this case if nothing else better comes out

I also sent Sena and email asking them similar questions. They got back to me right away. I was going to wait until the Vaja case came out but when I sent Vaja and email about the specifics of the case I received an automated response.

What makes this better than the EB Case slipper? I bought that, and really like it. Just wondering? (I know some have said they didn't like the idea of the magnetic cover-latch. I haven't had any problem, and find its a pretty good way to secure the flip cover while allowing me to open it up quickly.)

yeah, its the magenetic cover that i don't like. like i said in another thread, i don't let my Ax come withing 5 ft of anything w a magnet in it. the sena case has a button latch that secures the flip, i like that better.

I gotta agree, the magetic latch is actually more elegant and user-friendly than a button-mashing latch. The only reason why I'm pro-button this time is because I plan to keep credit-cards and such inside the case, which for obvious reasons are not so magnetically friendly

I have read reviews linked from sena's site, and some of the reviewers stated that the quality of the leather and craftsmanship of EB's cases are not as good as sena's. How independent/objective are these reviews is open for debate. On the otherhand, the colours available for Sena is much more appealing.

Cheers.

yeah, i forgot to mention the different colors, eb i think only has 2 colors while sena has about 6 or so. does anyone on here have any links to reviews other than the ones on sena's webpage? I never read those bc the ppl that make those linked reviews are sponsored the the company so to answer your question Fritz, they won't give sena bad reviews simply bc sena pays the bills.

I too sent emails to Sena and got amazingly fast responses- five minutes or less!

They were as follows:

Me:
I am unsure if I will like the belt-clip. If case makes my Axim too big for
> my shirt pocket, I will probably use the belt-clip.
>
> If I order WITH the belt-clip, and I decide I don't want/need it, is it
> removeable?

Sena:
Yes the belt-clip is removable. However, there is a little tab at the back
of the case that is not removable. THis is only on the BELT-CLIP versions.
NO-CLIP versions do not have tab that allows the clip to be hooked.

You wouldn't want the tab if you want to carry it on your shirt pocket.

Me:
Wow, thanks for such a fast response!
> I'll press my luck and ask a follow-up:
> Do you know if an Axim in this case will fit in a typical shirt pocket?
Sena:
Without defining 'typical' it is dificult for me to make a general
statement. But I think it will fit.

I would think you are going to look like you have a huge, square tumor on your chest if you ever did manage to fit the Axim and case into a shirt pocket.

so the question remains: is it too much hassle to take the Ax out of the Sena to cradle it? Or is it smooth and worth that, seemingly, ONE 'inconvenience'?

personaly, i wouldn't mind taking it out every time to synch it, but thats just me. i'll easily trade a wallet and the case i have now in my pocket for a smaller, better, more esthetic case.

Well, I just ordered mine today. I also hope to replace my wallet with this case. I won't mind taking it out to sync it either. Besides, at only $30 how could I not try it out. I really wanted a Vaja case but let's see how well a $30 case matches up against one more than twice the cost with the same features. I think I'll be pleasantly surprised.
