4GB Hitachi CF Hard Drive will retail for $499
Business Week Article
$499 vs over $1,500 for a flash media card. How many movies can you fit on this thing?

Sweet, if I wait six months I should be able to pick one up for half that.

Not really. They do use more than a flash card, but the Axim has a huge battery.

I just spent 350$ CDN on a 1GB Compactflash card (not a microdrive).
I wont be buying any more memory for the axim, EVER!

This sounds great, but it uses the FAT 32 file system. Does the Axim support FAT 32 or only FAT 16?
Also, go to this link for a review on this new card:

You would also have to pay attention to your altitude if you are at higher elevations.

I only have 512 total.... 256 SD, and 256 CF...
I sure could use some more for video.

but you have to switch them out. One could load up tons of movies and MP3s on this drive and never have to carry anything else.

The Axim does support FAT 32, but not all cameras do.
