I am writing this to find out the real deal. Is Dell really have a X7 in the works. I would prefer not to have speculation in this thread. I need to know if I should hold off buying a new Axim or just buy another X5 (Since X3 doesn't have both CF and SD cards I have no use for it).

There has been nothing official about an X7. I would be surprised if Dell came out with anything else new in the near future since the recent release of the X3's.

Yeah, we started hearing rumors here about 4 months or so before the X3 came out, so the X7 isn't going to be coming out anytime soon.

I think the answer would be YES, Dell does have a new PPC in the works. The product development cycle on these products must be fairly long and I imagine they're already taking feedback on the X3.


As for whether you should hold off or not. I think that's a question you should be answering yourself, not getting an answer from strangers in Internet land :)

If you need CF and need a PDA now then get the X5.


I wouldn't be assuming that the X7 (or whatever the next release will be) will even HAVE CF. It's a technology that is being phased out, like it or not.
