Recently, I ordered and recieved the new pretec 1.3 mp CompactCamera for use in the CF slot. I liked my palmpix camera and thought it would be good to have something similar. Camera worked fine, but was dificult to insert - tight tight fit. It always took some pressure to seat it.

Unfortunately, I noticed some crazy stuff happening, couldn't get a good picture on the screen. Wiggled the camera a bit and the picture got better and worse.

I finally found the problem - the camera was cracked along the joint where the "card" meets the camera. I wish I could include a photo!

I pressure required to seat it was enough to crack it. I assume pretec will say that I broke it and I suppose they will be right. It seems to me, though, that if it requires enough force to break it just to insert in the slot, it is not made very well.

I spent $140 for this thing. I regret not spending a little more and buying an inexpensive, seperate camera.
